Diogo Jota came off the bench to score twice as Jurgen Klopp’s side defeat miserable Arsenal side 3-0 at Emirates stadium on Saturday evening.
The Reds dominating possession throughout the half-time but failed to broken the deadlock until substituted Diogo Jota, who shone in international duty in mid-week, came on with half an hour to give Jurgen Klopp’s men.
First, the Portuguese star headed in from a brilliant Trent Alexander-Arnold cross just three minutes after entering the action.
Four minutes later, Mohamed Salah took advantage of a Gabriel error in the Arsenal defence to double the lead before Diogo Jota’s second came in the 81st minute after some swift passing involving Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Sadio Mane.
The Gunners have now lost 12 matches – a Premier League low for the club who now have only the Europa League as an outside chance for any success this season.
