Kai Havertz was once again showcased series of impressive display after inspired Chelsea in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg at Stamford Bridge.
The attacking midfielder who lead Blues front-line, made perfect to the game as he had two chances inside the opening five minutes, the first of which should’ve been converted.
Several minutes later, the German star put the Blues ahead with a sensational header after a cross from Hakim Ziyech.
Havertz worked hard throughout the game off the ball, ensuring Lille’s backline never had time to settle. He was unfortunate not to add a second goal with one powerful solo run forward that ended with the German blasting a shot narrowly over.
His performances will undoubtedly have given Thomas Tuchel food for thought ahead of Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool.
