In 18th minutes of UEFA Champions League spot battle between Chelsea and Leicester City, Timo Werner was denied a huge penalty.
They tend to look like some of the most stonewall penalty calls, but the Blues can’t believe their luck tonight as the call ended up going the other way.
Mike Dean had the perfect view. How he hasn’t given a penalty is absolutely baffling.— LDN (@LDNFootbalI) May 18, 2021
Another shocking decision against Chelsea. pic.twitter.com/PK8ZXhHxYS
The west London club already have a grievance against officiating when it comes to this fixture due to the FA Cup final at the weekend, and VAR didn’t even seem to attempt to check this one either.
The fact that it’s Youri Tielemans that should’ve been penalised just makes this one even worse for Chelsea.
Werner also broken the deadlock in 34th minutes but his effort was disallowed by VAR again due to handball.
