After opened the scoring with a casual placed finish and set up assist for Pulisic to scored the second goals, Kai Havertz follow up with one of the most satisfying first touches of the season against Palace in a first-half masterclass.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has endured a difficult debut season in England, after joining the Stamford Bridge outfit from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for £70million.

But arrived of Thomas Tuchel, helping him proved himself as the scintillating attacking, in which showed with a dominant display in Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

After the German attacking midfielder opened the scoring with a casual placed finish, he quickly turned provide, slipping the ball inside for Pulisic, who smashing high into the roof of the net.

However, in 22nd minutes of the game, Havertz produced one of the most satisfying first touches of the season against Chelsea academy graduate Patrick van Aanholt.

Jorginho showed his quality by floating a fine long-range pass over the top of the Eagles’ collapsed defence and the ball was in the path of Kai Havertz.

The German star then produced a marvellous touch which flicked the ball over the head of Blues academy graduate Patrick van Aanholt, which left the full-back completely perplexed before fired a shot towards the bottom corner, which was parried away by Vicente Guaita.

Havertz, who was instrumental throughout in breaking down the Eagles backline, admitted that he needs to ‘prove’ his attacking talent more regularly.

He said: ‘Of course I’m happy. The most important thing is that we won.

‘After the 5-2 defeat (this is) a good game from us. We could have scored a few more but we can be happy. We keep on going on Tuesday.

‘In my position you always want to score. Last few months it wasn’t easy and I didn’t have many chances. Today I got some chances, I could have scored one or two goals more but of course I’m happy’.

On playing in a false nine role, Havertz added: ‘I like it. It’s a good position for me.

‘I have the freedom to go everywhere I want to go. It’s always easy to play with players with these qualities. After one game when you won 4-1 it’s easy to say we’re a good attacking team.

‘We have to prove that on Tuesday again and on Saturday again and after the season we can speak about it. After such a game it’s easy to say I’m at my best.

‘I have to prove it in more games. I will give my best, try to improve and hope I will continue.’

This was the kind of performance few Chelsea supporters expected after watching the 21-year-old fail to show exactly why their club paid such a lofty fee for the versatile attacking midfielder. Indeed, this was the first time that Havertz had scored and assisted in the same Premier League game.

Havertz, who netted his sixth goal of the season in all competitions for the Blues on Saturday will hope of taking his fabulous form into next Chelsea game against FC Porto in the Uefa Champions League second-leg at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Tuesday.

The Blues have already set up in book their place in Uefa Champions League semi-finals after defeat the Portuguese giants in first-leg last week with 2-0 and second-leg tie result at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Tuesday will automatical secure spot in semi-final of the competitions.
