Arsenal have reportedly made a formal contract offer to Chelsea winger Willian and have ended closer to signing the Brazilian star.

The 31-year-old playmaker is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of last month and so far the Blues have failed to find an agreements over a new deal.

Willian wants a three-year contract but Chelsea have refused to offer him more than a two-year deal and that impasse has frustrated the player and consider offer from Arsenal, who reportedly ready to offer him three-year deal.

The Gunners have reportedly in talks with Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian, who is having an ever-growing influence at the Emirates having already brought David Luiz and Cedric Soares to the club, while also looking to get another one of his clients, Coutinho, over the line from Barcelona.

The 31-year-old has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season, including four in the space of three games during the Premier League restart and set up another three assists, helping Lampard’s side secure a top-four finish and a spot in the Champions League next season.

Willian has been at Chelsea since he turned down a move to Tottenham in favour of the Blues in the summer of 2013, and has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one Europa League in his seven years at Stamford Bridge.

He made 343 appearances for Chelsea, scored 63 goals and registered 65 assists, in fact last season the 31-year-old scored nine league goals in total last season, more than he managed in any other league campaign for the west London outfit. He also provided seven assists, equalling his highest previous tally, which was amassed in 2017-18.
