RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner gave Chelsea fans a looks of what they can except from him next season with a stunning strike against Düsseldorf on Wednesday night.
The German star is set unveiled as Chelsea player after the Blues agreed a five-year contract worth £180,000 a week with the 24-year-old forward earlier this month after meeting his £53million release clause.
Werner, who scored 32 goals and contributed 13 assists across all the competitions for Leipzig this season, has been attracted interest from a host of European clubs but Chelsea are won the race to sign the 24-year-old.
And ahead of official announcement Timo Werner has left Blues supporters drooling with an exquisite finish in his side’s game against Düsseldorf on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig missed a chance to cement a Uefa Champions League spot for next season with their matches against Düsseldorf ended 2-2 draw.
Goals by Kevin Kampl and Timo Werner were cancelled out by late strikes from Steven Skrzybski and Andre Hoffmann as RB Leipzig stayed third on 63 points, four ahead of fifth-placed Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Werner, meanwhile, desperate to complete his move to the Bridge and is willing to give up the remainder of the Uefa Champions League campaign with Leipzig to move to the Blues in July.
The German club eliminated Tottenham Hotspur in last round to progress to the last-eight but Timo Werner wants to hit the ground running in west London and is willing to give up hopes of winning the trophy with his current side.
