Thomas Partey has leading Arsenal’s final preparations on Wednesday morning as Mikel Arteta’s men trained ahead of their Europa League opener away at Rapid Vienna.
The Gunners players were back out on the grass at London Colney training base today following their narrowly defeated 1-0 by Manchester City at the weekend, with the focus now turning towards Thursday’s Europa League clash with Rapid Vienna.
Mikel Arteta’s side will play away to Rapid Vienna at Allianz Stadion, looking to start their 2020/21 Europa League campaign in the right manner.
And as Gunners prepared for clash, Thomas Partey, who made his debut for Mikel Arteta’s side at weekend when encounter with Manchester City, was made key major role during final preparations.
The 27-year-old was spotted at Gunners’ London Colney training base with his new team-mates and looked sharp as he eyeing his first start on Thursday night.
Partey alongside Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos, Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe including captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang undertook some light individual sessions before starting full training with their others team-mates.
Meanwhile, Xhaka has admitted that Thomas Partey will bring good a mentality, balance to Gunners midfield park.
‘He will be the guy who is important for me and as well for the team. Everyone in the club can be happy because he has great quality. He will bring a good mentality, a good balance in our game because this is what we need a bit more: the mentality to win.’
