Report: See How Chelsea response to Inter Milan’s swap deal for N’Golo Kante including Christian Eriksen & Marcelo Brozovic

Chelsea have rejected offers from Inter Milan for N’Golo Kante involving Marcelo Brozovic and Christian Eriksen.

The Italian side are desperate to snap up the Frenchman to bolster their midfield options ahead of next campaign.

Chelsea, however, interesting in selling midfielder Jorginho ahead of N’Golo Kante and have no interest in either Eriksen or Brozovic.

Jorginho, 28, is considered more expendable and, after their outlay this summer, boss Frank Lampard recognises the club have to consider ways of balancing the books.

The Blues still in market for defensive midfielder with both West Ham’s Declan Rice and Lille’s Boubakary Soumare among those fancied by Frank Lampard.

A substantial cash bid for N’Golo Kante, rather than swap deals, would likely be considered while the futures of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley may also come into question over the next month.

Frank Lampard said in June he wanted to keep Kante and Antonio Conte knows it will not be easy to prise the France international from his old club.

The Blues are close to agreeing a deal with Rennes for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and have fielded loan enquiries from Everton and others for Fikayo Tomori.

Meanwhile, Michy Batshuayi has completed his loan switch to Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old Belgium striker, who also signed a one-year contract extension with Chelsea, played for Palace in 2018-19 and scored six goals in 13 appearances.
