Report: Real Madrid make move for N’Golo Kante as they set to launch £71m bid for Blues star

Real Madrid have reportedly set to revive their interest in sign N’Golo Kante this summer and could make an offer of £71million for the Blues midfielder.

The Los Blancos are eager to strengthen their midfield options and have long-term interest in Kante dating back to when he was at Leicester city.

According to The AS, Real’s hopes of signing Kante could be boosted as Frank Lampard’s side may have to sell players yo fund their summer spending spree.

The Blues have already secured the signed of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, who will join this summer for €40million (£36million).

In addition, Chelsea are likely to bring in RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, who scored 31 and contributed 13 assists across all competitions this season.

The Blues have agreed to pay Werner’s £53million release clause and personal terms have been completed with official announcement expected this weekend.

Lampard, meanwhile, is eager to further strengthen his midfield options with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kia Havertz is latest player that has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent day.

The Blues have reportedly stepped up their interest by opening talks for the £89million-rated star, who scored 15 goals and registered eight assists in all competitions this season.

And if Chelsea were to secure deals for Werner and Havertz then it seems likely that some high-profile players would have to depart Stamford Bridge.

N’Golo Kante has enjoyed much success during his time at Chelsea, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Europa League. He has just over three years remaining on his contract with the club.
