Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kia Havertz is reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League side Chelsea this summer despite Real Madrid shows interest in in the £70million-rated midfielder.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from top clubs across the continent thanks his performances in the Bundesliga since made first-team debut for Leverkusen when he was 17-year-old.
And according to The Sun, Real Madrid are set to join the race for Havertz, who born 11 June 1999, but the Germany international is most interested in a move to the Premier League.
The reports explains in details that Chelsea remain in pole position for the Havertz, who clocks 21 today, despite the interest from Los Blancos.
The Blues are expected to seal £53million move for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner in the coming weeks – but Sportarena revealed they wish to continue their Bundesliga raid with Havertz now a priority target for them.
Kia Havertz destination for much of the regular season appeared to be German champions Bayern Munich, after a number of impressive performances for Leverkusen.
The 21-year-old was expected to follow the footsteps of most of Germany’s best talents over the past decade in joining the Bundesliga champions.
However, Chelsea seem to be favourites to land the midfielder’s signature, but they could still face some domestic competition with Manchester United and Premier League champions elect Liverpool also eyeing up Havertz.
Havertz, who missed Leverkusen last two matches, having scored 15 goals and contributed eight assists in 35 appearances this season.
