Chelsea are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for N’Golo Kante this summer as Frank Lampard keen to streamline his squad and close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool.
The 29-year-old Frenchman struggled with injuries this season and could be let go if a sizeable offer is made for the defensive midfielder.
The west London club have already completed the signed of Hakim Ziyech and Werner and they are also determined to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and hope to have that transfer wrapped up soon.
Frank Lampard & co. are also desperate to strengthen their back-line options with centre-back, left-back Ben and a goalkeeper are priority this summer.
However, according to The Times claims, Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for N’Golo Kante, who made 22 league appearances for Lampard’s side this season.
The World Cup winners has been monitoring by PSG, Real Madrid even former Blues boss Antonio Conte is interested in reunion with Kante by signing him for Inter Milan this summer.
Meanwhile, after the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal, Frank Lampard admitted he needs to improve his defence in the summer.
‘The numbers don’t lie,’ admitted Lampard.
‘We’re trying to play a certain way. I know the teams now at the top of the game – Liverpool and Manchester City – have been through similar periods in the early stages of their managers being at the clubs so it’s a work in progress for me.
‘I can’t shelve it in another direction.
‘We have to work defensively as a group but some of the individual errors we’re making have cost us goals and they can’t be there if we want to keep moving forward.
‘We’ve had a good season but there are areas to improve and defensively of course we have to improve.’
