Report: Chelsea made officially contacts in bid to land Said Benrahma from Brentford

Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiries about sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma ahead of summer transfer window.

The Blues boss Frank Lampard is searching for attacking reinforcements with both Willian and Pedro expected to depart from Stamford bridge at the end of the season and is adding Brentford’s Said Benrahma to their shortlist ahead of upcoming window.

The winger has been one of the Championship club’s stars over the past couple of seasons, attracting a lot of Premier League interest, and it appears Chelsea are trying to overtake the rest of the competition.

And according to The La Gazette du Fennec, the west London club have now come forward and ‘officially contacted’ the 24-year-old, having made Benrahma one of their ‘priorities’.

The reports added that Blues were already interest in sign the 24-year-old back in January, but nothing came of it, perhaps because their focus was elsewhere, somewhere in Holland, near Amsterdam.

With that now out of the way, the website explains that Chelsea have ‘accelerated things’ and ‘officially’ contacted the forward with a view to buy him in the summer.

Strongly interested’ in the former Nice player, Chelsea would however need to fork out a hefty fee of €40m for the Brentford star, as that’s how much they will be asking for him in the coming months.

Benrahma, 24, scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in all 30 appearances for Brentford this season.
