Chelsea have reportedly entered race to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon as Frank Lampard weighs up alternative to Leicester City star Ben Chilwell.
Reguilon, 23, who was voted LaLiga’s best left-back for 2019/20 campaign has been monitoring by Everton and Sevilla, who had the defender on loan last season.
The Toffees are reportedly to be the favourites to land the 23-year-old after placing an £18million bid for the defender over the weekend but according to the Marca, Chelsea are entered the transfer race to sign him on a season-long loan.
Chelsea are growing interest in sign Reguilon due to unable to meet Leicester asking price for England defender Ben Chilwell.
The Foxes are demanding £80million for the 23-year-old England international – who is under contract until 2024 – so Reguilon could be seen as a more feasible alternative for Frank Lampard.
The Blues have already secured the signed of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for £90million combined and are closer to complete the deal of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
A potential move to London for Sergio Reguilon may see Chelsea replicate the deal they had in place with Madrid for midfielder Matteo Kovacic.
The Blues landed the Croatia international on loan from the Spanish international on loan in 2018 before going on to sign him permanently for £40million.
