Report: Chelsea handed huge transfer boost in bid to land Kai Havertz

Chelsea have handed major transfer boost in pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz this summer.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been attracted interest from Europe’s biggest clubs thanks to his performances since made his debut in the Bundesliga at 17-year-old.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have reportedly interesting in signing the German star but Chelsea are reportedly leading the race by made first move for him.

The Blues are already conducted some of their transfer early before summer transfer window reopen by capturing Ajax ace Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

But boss Frank Lampard still want to continue making wave in the next window in bid to close the gap to Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Blues boss highlighted Havertz as potential star who could light up Stamford for many years to come, but his asking price with around £90million may be a bit out of Chelsea’s price range.

However, as Football London report, the Blues are receive major transfer boost in pursuit of Havertz with his asking price will likely have dropped to around £70million because of Leverkusen’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Havertz has enjoyed a super campaign with Leverkusen, having scored 17 goals and contributing eleven assists across all the competitions this term.
