Chelsea have reportedly closer to secure the signature of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner as they offered him five-year deal worth a massive £9million per season.
The west London club have stolen a march of Liverpool and Juventus, both of whom were interesting in sign the 24-year-old Germany forward.
And according to The German publication Bold, Timo Werner is ready to agree to the deal on the table offered by Frank Lampard’s side.
The long-linked Jurgen Klopp’s side transfer target has a release clause of £53.7 million that has to be triggered by 15 June to sign him this summer.
However, reports explains in details that Frank Lampard’s & co are willing to make the payment in full in the coming days and now have real hope of winning the race for Werner.
Reports also suggested that one source close to the player says Werner would be happy to play for Chelsea despite previously revealing his admiration for Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Werner, 24, has had a sensational campaign for RB Leipzig, having scored 31 goals and registered 12 assists across all competitions this term.
