Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho could be returning to the Premier League this summer after his agent Kia Joorabchian revealed a move back to England is ‘very much open’.
The Ex-Liverpool midfielder is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from La Liga giants Barcelona. However, his future in Spain are doubt with the Catalan giants are reportedly not interested in keeping hold of him at the club.
The Brazilian playmaker has been attracting interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester City – according to Sport – and his agent Kia Joorabchian has expressed the 28-year-old’s interest to return to the Premier League this summer.
‘It’s no secret he wants to come back to the Premier League,’ Joorabchian told TalkSport.
‘It’s still very much open. There is a lot of genuine interest.’
However, due to the pushed back dates of the transfer window and the Champions League, Kia Joorabchian said it may take some time for a deal to be made.
‘Because the Champions League will run until August 23, it will be difficult for players like Coutinho to make any commitments or moves pre that date,’ he added.
‘Because he has the Champions League at the moment, they have to qualify past Chelsea. And then he has got to play Barcelona, believe it or not.
‘For him to make a commitment pre having finished the Champions League.
‘He loves playing in the Premier League, he is adored playing in the Premier League and that is one of his priorities. He is not at all against staying at Barcelona.’
It is possible that the Brazilian playmaker would be loaned out again, potentially with an option to buy the lines, as Barcelona understand club don’t have the funds to spend due to coronavirus crisis.
Coutinho, meanwhile, may also have to take a pay cut in order to facilitate a move, with any potential suitors having to pay £18.2million for the loan and £9.1million to cover the Brazilian’s wages.
The Brazilian playmaker has scored nine goals and registered eight assists for Bayern Munich in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.
Kia Joorabchian also provided an update on his client Willian, who is still in a contract limbo with Stamford Bridge outfit.
The 31-year-old has not made his mind up on his future yet, according to his agent, and will do so after the FA Cup final against Arsenal on August 1 at Wembley Stadium.
The Brazilian has two offers from the Premier League, two from European clubs and one from an MLS club believed to be David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
‘He’s had a big offer from the MLS and two teams from the Premier League and two offers in Europe,’ agent Kia Joorabchian told talkSPORT.
‘He will make his mind up after the FA Cup.’
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard is keen to keep Willian at Chelsea but the Brazilian wants a three-year deal while the Blues have reportedly only offered him a two-year extension.
