Frank Lampard has heaps praised on Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount after his match-winning display in their 1-0 victory over Fulham.
The 22-year-old England international scored the only goal of the game late on in a hard-fought victory against Scott Parker’s side, who went down to 10 men in the first half.
Mount – who earlier hit the bar – scored the match-winner after 78th minutes with a half-volley after Alphonse Areola flapped at Ben Chilwell’s cross.
He then added in his press conference: ‘I thought his performance all round was fantastic; he’s been very good for us, last year and this year.
‘He’s a big example of what I mean when I mention youth, he turned 22 last week. I came to Chelsea at 22, and I wasn’t blowing the world away in my first year or so, I was finding my feet, but Mason already has so many games under his belt.
‘When you look across our front line, you’ve got Pulisic, similar age bracket, Kai Havertz, similar age bracket, Callum Hudson-Odoi, younger age bracket, Tammy [Abraham], Timo [Werner], they are all young.’
So far this season Mason Mount has scored three goals in 25 appearances across all competitions.
