Just In: Full Chelsea squad for Barnsley Carabao Cup clash revealed

Chelsea have the perfect opportunity to bounce back from losing against Liverpool in past weekend.

Three days on from being beaten by the reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at home, the Blues are back in action this evening as they host Championship outfit Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

It’s the first meeting between the two sides in over 12 years when Barnsley caused a massive shock in the FA Cup by winning 1-0 over the Blues at Oakwell.

The west London club will go into the game at Stamford Bridge as heavy favourites, but head coach Frank Lampard has warned his side against complacency.

‘No I certainly won’t take this game for granted, regardless of that game itself,’ Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.

‘I’ve been involved in many games of this type myself in my career, playing and managing now.

‘I understand the dangers and difficulties of them, and we have to have absolute respect for the opponent.

‘I know Barnsley now from watching them, their players and their coach, the system and the way they play.

‘And I’m sure like all teams that come to SB in a competition like this, individually and collectively they will want to show they can compete with us.’

For this evening’s against the Tykes, the Blues will be without as many as five-team players as Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Marco van Ginkel and Billy Gilmour out through injury.

Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen is suspended after being red-carded against Liverpool in past weekend.

However, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva are in contention to make their debuts after returning to full fitness and with that in mind, head coach Frank Lampard has plenty of options to choose from.

Full Chelsea squad: Goalkeepers:Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero
