Barcelona outcast Philippe Coutinho has sparked excitement among Gunners supporters by apparently dropping hint on social media.
The Gunners fans have been keeping an eye on the Brazilian’s social media in recent weeks, given he has been heavily linked with a move to north London club.
And it seems more than a few fans have picked up on the fact that the 28-year-old has recently started following likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gabriel Martinelli and Cedric Soares, who shared same agent with the Brazilian star.
Of course, in grand scheme of things, Coutinho’s Twitter activity means very little, but that hasn’t stopped Gunners supporters getting excited on social media as speculation Philippe Coutinho could join the Gunners this summer continues to grow.
Arsenal are set to sign Willian at the end of the month once he is officially out of contract at Stamford Bridge. The 31-year-old winger, who has reportedly already completed a medical at Emirates, will put pen to paper on a three-year deal worth £150,000-a-week.
The expenditure means it is very unlikely that the Gunners will move for Philippe Coutinho, especially given the fact they already turned him down once.
But Gunners supporters are remaining hopeful that the club find some extra cash from somewhere and bring the Brazilian playmaker back to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Coutinho is out of favour at Barcelona and he interest in return back to English Premier League according to, his agent Kia Joorabchian, who revealed a move back to England is ‘very much open’.
‘It’s no secret he wants to come back to the Premier League,’ Joorabchian told TalkSport.
Coutinho, who currently on loan at Bayern Munich, scored nine goals and registered eight assists but the Germans champions have confirming the Brazilian will leave the Bundesliga side when his loan expires.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: ‘Coutinho – as I said, the contractis running out and we cannot and will not make any further investments of this magnitude.’
Meanwhile, according to his agent his propose switch back to Premier League may take some time due to the pushed back dates of the transfer window and the Champions League.
‘Because he has the Champions League at the moment, they have to qualify past Chelsea. And then he has got to play Barcelona, believe it or not.
‘He loves playing in the Premier League, he is adored playing in the Premier League and that is one of his priorities. He is not at all against staying at Barcelona.‘
