England have secured comfortable victory over Albania in the World Cup qualifier match at Wembley Stadium last night, with Gareth Southgate’s men claimed 5-0 over the visitor.
The Three Lions made perfect start to the game and found themselves lead inside ninth minute, as Harry Maguire nodded the ball in from Reece James’s free-kick to make it 1-0.
Shortly after, England doubled their lead through Harry Kane, who headed in a dinked cross by Jordan Henderson.
Henderson then got on the score sheet himself, with Kane turning provider this time around before the Liverpool captain danced his way around the Albanian defence and scored a superb close-range goal.
Before the first 45 minutes ended, England added two more goals, with Kane completing his hat-rick. The Englishman scored his second of the night with a thumping finish with his left foot before saving the best for last, as he completed his treble with an exquisite overhead kick from Phil Foden’s cross.
England were in cruise control mode after the interval, although they did come close to scoring on a couple of occasions. The Three Lions now need just one point to confirm their place at the FIFA World Cup 2022. With the game being against minnows San Marino, England practically have both their feet in Qatar already.
Meanwhile, Arsenal starlet Emile Smith-Rowe came off the bench to make his debut, and the Englishman was a bright spark in his cameo and completed each of his attempted passes.
