Chelsea have handed huge boost in pursuit of land Barcelona youngster Xavier Mbuyamba this summer, with Catalan giants told the 18-year-old he can leave the Camp Nou for free in the upcoming window.

And according to a report in Spanish outlet SPORT, claims that the La Liga champions have told the 18-year-old he can leave the Nou Camp for free in the upcoming transfer window.

Mbuyamba’s agent previously confirmed that Chelsea are the frontrunners for his signature despite Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are reportedly showing interest in sign the 18-year-old.

‘Chelsea gave a fantastic presentation. There is a unique football atmosphere there. You immediately sit with the first-team players during lunch and the club has outlined a very ambitious plan for Xavier.

‘They really think that in one to two years, he can be in the first team. Frank Lampard has of course already proven that he is not afraid to play with young players. Being in the starting line-up at Chelsea at the age of 20 would, of course, be great.’
