Chelsea will be looking to secure a second Uefa Champions League crown when they take on newly-crowned Premier League champions Manchester City in Porto tonight.
The Blues, who ended their Premier League campaign with a defeat on Sunday afternoon, losing 2-1 to Aston Villa at Villa Park, flew out to Portugal on Thursday evening ahead of putting the finishing touches to their preparations.
In the build-up to the final, which will see two English sides go head-to-head for the biggest prize in European club football for the second time in three seasons, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel was sweating over the availability of both goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Mendy, who establish himself as one of the best goalkeeper in Premier League, was forced off at half-time against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon while Kante, who helped the Blues to seeing of Real Madrid in semi-finals stage of the competitions, missed the clash with Dean Smith’s side because of an ongoing hamstring complaint.
However, the pair were both confirmed in the travelling squad and trained with the rest of the team ahead of the game. Even there’s no senior figures missing out through injury or suspension and that’s major boost for Thomas Tuchel in picking his first startling line-up against City.
