Arsenal Team News vs West Ham United: Saka, Willian, Partey, Pepe, Martinelli

Mikel Arteta & co. trip to the east side of London to take on local rivals West Ham United in Matchday 29 in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The Gunners head into the game, aiming of bounce back to winning ways after suffered 1-0 defeat to Greek champions Olympiacos in second-leg of round 16 of Uefa Europa League competitions in mid-week.

And ahead of crucial clash against West Ham United, who sitting fifth position on league standings with 48 points, Mikel Arteta & co. have handed major boost concerning the situation regarding Bukayo Saka and Willian injuries problem.

The Gunners have confirmed that Saka, who sustained a hamstring injury during last Sunday’s north London derby win over Spurs, fit to face West Ham United this evening while Willian will face a late fitness test before consider to include in Matchday squad.

Saka, 19, missed Thursday’s Europa League home defeat to Olympiacos as a precaution, however, the Englishman is now ready to return to boost for Mikel Arteta & co.

As for Willian, the Brazilian star missed the Olympiacos loss with a tight calf and will face a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s trip to London Stadium – but the rest of the squad is available for Mikel Arteta.

A statement on Arsenal’s website read: ‘Bukayo Saka. Right hamstring. As a precaution, Bukayo was left out of squad to play Olympiacos on Thursday.

‘During this week, Bukayo has responded well to treatment, has participated in training and is now available for selection.

‘Willian. Left calf. Willian missed Thursday’s match with Olympiacos due to a tight calf.

‘Willian is recovering well, has participated in training and will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s match regarding his availability.’

Martinelli, meanwhile, is expected to be in contention against the Hammers after made returned to action in Thursday’s Europa League home loss to Olympiacos.

The highly-rated forward show why he deserved first-team spot in Mikel Arteta’s team after showed he is ready to be the Gunners main man with his substituted appearance in the Europa League on Thursday.

Martinelli, 19, who scored his first Premier League goal against the Hammers last season, expected to be in Mikel Arteta’s squad that face the local rivals at London stadium this evening.
