Arsenal Ready Offer Lacazette To Sevilla In A Bid To Sign Youssef En-Nesyri In January

Arsenal have reportedly interested in using Alexandre Lacazette as a makeweight in a deal for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri in January.

The Gunners boss Mikel Arteta keen on strengthen his attacking lineup in upcoming winter window, and Youssef En-Nesyri, who established himself as one of best youngest attacker become primary target for the Spanish coach.

The 24-year-old Morocco international scored 33 goals in 85 games for Sevilla and the LaLiga side are said to value him at £38.5million. However, Spanish newspaper La Razon claim Arsenal could try to negotiate a swap deal, with Sevilla eyeing a move for Lacazette. 

The Gunners have already brought in a number of young players including Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale and they keen to continue rebuild their squad.

Last season, Youssef En-Nesyri, scored 18 goals in La-Liga and already has three in six games this term.

He is contracted with the Spanish side until 2025, meaning they are not under pressure to sell him, but interest in Alexandre Lacazette, who is out of contract in the summer, could give Arsenal huge chances of land him.

Lacazette has played 31 minutes of Premier League football this season. The Frenchman missed the first two games of the campaign after testing positive for Covid-19 and has been an unused substitute for the Gunners’ last three matches.

The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Arsenal risk losing him on a free transfer if they are unable to agree a new contract or get a fee for him in January.

The forward is also able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs at the start of next year. 

Arteta however remained tight lipped when asked about Lacazette’s future ahead of the north London derby victory against Tottenham at the weekend.

On Lacazette’s future, he said: ‘We discuss that internally, we discuss that with him. It’s a long season ahead of us anything can happen everything is open.

‘He just needs to focus on performing and contributing to the team like he always does. 

‘He’s a phenomenal character, he’s somebody that’s always pushing and he has a real interest to help the team. That’s not going to change. After we will see what happens.’

If Arsenal do manage to sign En-Nesyri in January, they will see him depart for the African Cup of Nations in the same month.
