Thomas Tuchel’s team are revenge for their FA final defeat to top-flight Leicester City into third place with a 2-1 victory that puts them in the driving seat in the battle to finish in the Champions League places.

The west London club dominated throughout a one-sided first half but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Once again Kasper Schmeichel made some excellent saves while Timo Werner had two goals correctly disallowed for offside and handball respectively.

The German hitman felt he should have had a penalty too, but referee Mike Dean gave a free kick the other way and it was not overruled by VAR despite there being clear contact from Wembley goal-hero, Youri Tielemans.

The Blues made perfect start to the second half and found themselves took the lead as Antonio Rudiger heads home from Ben Chilwell’s corner.

VAR, then awarded a penalty after a foul by Fofana on Werner and Jorginho stepped up to stroke home.

Leicester City forward Iheanacho, then capitalize Mateo Kovacic error to put one back while the Blues maintain the game till end of stoppage time.
