Report: Chelsea Close on Secure The signing of Achraf Hakimi After Days of Contact With £55.8m star’s agent

Chelsea are on verge of completing their first transfer deal this summer after days of productive talks with Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi’s representative according to Calciomercato.

The 22-year-old defender has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world since he left Real Madrid and starred for Borussia Dortmund over a two-year loan, before moving permanently to Inter last summer.

His impressive performances attracted interest from top club’s across the Europe with including Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

Despite ended last campaign with seven goals and 10 assists, the Morocco international has been made available for transfer this summer due to Inter Milan’s need to sell players because of the club’s dire financial situation.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly submitted offered for the right-back, but reports by Italian outlet, Calciomercato claims that the Blues have ‘gained a considerable advantage’ over PSG and are ‘close to the finish line’ after several days of contacts with Hakimi’s agent.

The reports explain in details that the European champions have tabled an offer of €60million (£51.5m)plus one of either Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, or Andras Christensen for Hakimi.

Marcos Alonso is the one Inter are reportedly focusing. The report further added that their new manager Simone Inzaghi has even given the green light for the 30-year-old as he sees him as an ‘ideal’ player.

The Italian champions want a slightly higher fee of €65m (£55.8m) for the 22-year-old but Calciomercato expects that an agreement could be reached in the next few hours.

The Blues have also reportedly been talking with Hakimi’s agent for several days and it’s understood that both parties are close to an agreement on the Morocco international’s potential wages and contract duration at Stamford Bridge.
