Mino Raiola Outline New Condition for Chelsea to Complete Erling Haaland Transfer

Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola insists on inserting a release clause in the striker’s potential deal with Chelsea, according to reports.

It’s understood that the Blues opened talks over a move for the highly-rated forward at the beginning of the last month – even though the full cost of a deal could be close to £170million.

The Bundesliga giant have stated they do not wish to sell their coveted centre-forward this summer but the ambitious striker is open to taking the next step up in his career.

But, according to Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast, a potential move has hit a stumbling block with the Champions League holders unwilling to bow to the contract demands of his agent Mino Raiola.

‘His agent, Mino Raiola, is keen to insert a get-out clause into Haaland’s contract in order that he move – his next move that is after he moves from Dortmund is smooth and is also concrete with regards to the payment and also the structure,’ McGarry said.

‘And of course in Mino’s case, the commission. Chelsea are not particularly keen on any get-out clause for any of their players.

‘This is something that is obviously common in Spain, in LaLiga, and also in Serie A and sometimes in the Bundesliga as well.

‘Because, of course, Haaland is coming from Borussia Dortmund and expects to be joining Chelsea before the new season begins.

‘This is something that has to be ironed out between Raiola and Chelsea if this deal is going to be signed in terms of both Dortmund and the player himself.’

Haaland netted an incredible 41 goals in as many appearances across all competitions last season for Dortmund.

The Bundesliga giants have also agreed a £73m deal with Manchester United to sell his team-mate Jadon Sancho.
