Arsenal have held a productive talks with Serie A Champions Inter Milan over a possibility of signing highly-rated forward Lautaro Martinez this summer, according to reports.
After Mikel Arteta’s men ended last campaign in disappointing ways, in which they failed to qualifying for European football next season, the Gunners are eager to strengthen their squad this summer in the hoping of bringing glory back to Emirates.
Arsenal have already strengthen their squad with three major signing, Nuno Tavares from Benfica to provide cover as well as competitions to Kieran Tierney at left-back, Ben White, who completing a sensational £50m move from Brighton seen as David Luiz replacement at the hearts of Arsenal defence.
Whilst Albert Sambi Lokonga, who joined the London club from Anderlecht, will bolster Mikel Arteta’s options in central midfield. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta still want to sign goalkeeper, creative midfielder, right-back and a centre-forward before end of this summer.
Earlier this week, The Telegraph initially reported that Mikel Arteta’s recruitment team made an enquiry with Inter Milan for Lautaro Martinez, who among number of forwards the club are considering before the transfer window closes later next month.
Now The Athletic, have confirmed Arsenal were the first to come forward and there has already been talks between the two parties over a possibility of signing Lautaro Martinez, who scored 17 goals in Serie A last season to help his side to the title.
Sky Sport Italia, also claimed Inter are struggling to reach contract extension agreement with Lautaro Martinez, who has two years left on his deal with the Nerazzurri.
