Chelsea star N’Golo Kante has admitted that it too early to say he deserved to win the Ballon d’Or over Messi and Ronaldo after produced extraordinary performances throughout the 2020/21 campaign.

Both Ronaldo and Messi dominated the Ballon d’Or award from 2008 until Croatian playmaker Luka Modric snapped up France Football’s coveted prize in 2018.

Barca talisman Lionel Messi won his record-breaking sixth Ballon d’Or in 2019 ahead of Virgil van Dijk and Christiano Ronaldo, while the 2020 edition of the award cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kante’s outstanding performances believed should be rewarded by Ballon d’Or award, according several pundits, with including United midfielder Paul Pogba and football supporters across all Europe.

And despite a lot of pundits and football supporters across the Europe back the tireless French midfielder, N’Golo has admitted that it is too early say he deserved the prize over two evergreen attacker Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.

‘I think it is a little early to speak about that now,’ said Kante. ‘We have just arrived at the middle of the year, we have 6 more months, there are still lots of matches and competitions to play in.

‘There is no point saying that I deserve it today. A few years ago I finished in the top 10, and that was nice, but to win it would be another story. It is a wonderful individual prize for players.
