Eduoard Mendy’s solid performances at Community Stadium last night, helped Chelsea move back to the top of Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Brentford.
The Senegalese international, who played like a man possessed at times, made series of excellent save, as he had an answer for everything Brentford threw at him.
After a quiet first half, Mendy, 29, sprang into action in the second half, used all parts of his body including legs, chest and the face to pulling off a string of stunning saves to deny Brentford.
Mendy denying Ivan Toney, Saman Ghoddos and Pontus Jansson – with his face – before saving the very best for last: a stunning reaction stop to divert Christian Norgaard’s overhead kick onto the bar and over.
The Senegalese international was awarded the Man of the Match award for his stellar performance on Saturday evening.
