‘He Has Been Phenomenal’: Watch Ruben Loftus-Cheek Epics Of Magical Display Vs Brentford

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was among Thomas Tuchel’s men who showcased series of impressive performances in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Brentford.

The Englishman, who handed his second league start of the season, showcased series of impressive display in middle of park for Chelsea, as he controlled the midfield and absorbed the Brentford pressure until the 70th minute, when the home side wisely decided the time had come to bypass him and play long balls instead.

Loftus-Cheek, who is 6ft 3in tall, playing in a deep-lying midfield position and doing more than anyone to stop Brentford’s attack and start Chelsea’s moves.

It was the Englishman’s midfield control, winning the ball back and then driving forward, which allowed Chelsea to exert themselves towards the end of the first half.

Physically dominant and technically sharp, Ruben Loftus-Cheek regained possession more times than any other players on the pitch. He won the ball back on 13 occasions.

He also had the most touches of any player on the pitch, and won the most fouls. He may not have sliced open the Brentford defence with a killer pass, but he regularly stormed through the heart of the pitch with the ball.
