Senegal have book their place in the quarter-final stages of the Africa Cup of Nations after seeing off Cape Verde with a 2-0 at Stade Omnisports de Bafoussam, Cameroon on Tuesday evening.
Aliou Cisse’s men made perfect start to the game, as Sadio Mane hit the post inside the opening two minutes in Bafoussam.
In the 27th minutes of the game, Patrick Andrade was send-off by Video Assistant referee after lunge on Pape Gueye. Mane create another chance in 40th minutes of the game but his efforts block by Vozinha.
In the second-half of the game, goalkeeper Vozinha is dismissed for challenge and clash of heads with Sadio Mane before being led off on a stretcher, and the Blue Sharks are down to nine.
Several minutes later, Mane broken the deadlock for the Senegal. The Liverpool star takes an impeccable first touch, opens his body up and expertly curls the ball into the top corner off the underside of the bar.
Cape Verde protest and the ref is heading to VAR for a possible foul on Ryan Mendes but the goal stands before Bamba Dieng seals the game for Senegal with his first goal for his country in the stoppage time of the game.
