Chelsea draw Porto in Champions League quarter-finals

Chelsea will face Porto in the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals after the Portuguese champions stunning extra-time victory over Italian side Juventus.

The Blues continued their impressive run of form under new head coach Thomas Tuchel, beaten Atletico Madrid across both legs of their last-16 tie to emerge as unlikely contenders in the competition.

Thomas Tuchel’s men will play away from home in the first-leg, meaning they will have the advantage of playing at Stamford Bridge in the second-leg to try and secure a spot in the semi-finals.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will face Spanish champions Real Madrid while Manchester City face Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Should Chelsea get the better of Porto and progress to the last-four of the competition, they will face either Liverpool or Real Madrid for a place in the final.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals and the winner of that tie will play either Borussia Dortmund or Manchester City in the semi-finals.

The quarter-finals first-leg ties will be played on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7. The second-legs will be staged a week later on Tuesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 14.

The semi-finals will then be staged a few weeks later. The first-legs will take place on Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28. The second-legs will be staged a week later on Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5 respectively.

Roman Abramovich ready to break own rule to sign Erling Haaland

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly ready to break his own rule in order to win the battle of Erling Haaland signature this summer.

The 20-year-old striker has been attracted interest from top club’s across Europe, thanks to his outstanding performances since arrived at Bundesliga.

Haaland has netted 31 goals in 30 games this season and is monitoring by top club’s across the Europe, with including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

In order to win his signature, Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to make it his personal mission to sign Erling Haaland this summer, reporting by Daily Star.

Despite Chelsea once insisting they would never again do business with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola after Romelu Lukaku controversial issue, who joined United over return to Stamford Bridge in 2017.

So Roman Abramovich is set to break his own rule, despite they don’t have best history dealing with Raiola, but seeing as he is the boss of so many top class players, then Chelsea would probably be wise to kiss and make up!

Chelsea to offer Juve ‘pick of three players including Werner’ for Dybala

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer struggling striker Timo Werner in a blockbuster swap deal for Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala.

New Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is starting to put plans in place for his first transfer window in charge of the west London club.

Last summer, Frank Lampard was heavily backed with over £200million of new arrivals, with including big-money signings Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

The former England international’s failure to get the best out of German duo, which played a part in his dismissal. And since arrived of Tuchel, who has kept faith with his compatriot and is working on unlocking their true potential.

However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, claims that Chelsea are prepared to let ex-RB Leipzig star Werner leave this summer.

Thomas Tuchel has apparently identified Paulo Dybala as his priority target and he may have to part with one of his top stars to capture the Argentine.

The reports explain in details that the Italian champions will have a choice of three players, and the most likely to be involved in any swap deal is midfielder Jorginho, who was heavily linked with a return to Serie A last summer.

Maurizio Sarri wanted to be reunited with the Italian when he was in charge of the Old Lady. New boss Andreas Pirlo, meanwhile, interesting in service of Italian man.

Another option on the table is Timo Werner, who has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Chelsea this term.
A third option which Juventus may be interested in is ex-Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.

Reports circulated last week that Liverpool and Manchester United were prepared to offer the USA international a way out of Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic, 22, is frustrated by the lack of opportunities as he has fallen down the pecking order since last summers mass recruitment.

Chelsea looking to extend Thiago Silva contract

Chelsea are continuing negotiations to extend the contract of veterans defender Thiago Silva, expert Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported.

The Brazilian defender joined the London club on a free transfer after the expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain following the 2019/20 Champions League final.

Silva, 26, made 21 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and has impressed with his commanding performances and leadership qualities.

The centre-back is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, but the Blues chief are still proceeding with the contract talks.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, but the club have the option to extend his stay for another 12 months by mutual agreement.

And according to Italian expert journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that talks are ongoing between the player and the club, and a final decision could be made in the coming weeks.
