Barcelona President Send Possible Transfer Message To Chelsea And Man City Over Lionel Messi

Chelsea and Manchester City have received huge blow in pursuing of Lionel Messi this summer after Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed the playmaker agreed a new contract extension with the Catalan giants.

The 34-year-old evergreen attacker, who is current on international duty with Argentina at Copa America, become free agent after his contract with Barcelona officially expired.

The Argentina skipper is keen on leaving the Catalan giants 12 months ago but they refused to allow him leave despite City offer players with additional cash for the 34-year-old.

It’s understood that Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have positioned themselves in bids to land the evergreen attacker in case if Barcelona failed to meet his wage demands.

However, their hope of battle with the signature of Messi blow, as club president Joan Laporta confirmed this morning that the playmaker, who secretly agreed to join Chelsea for £290 million back in 2014, agreed a new contract extension with the Catalan giants.

Messi, who won 35 titles in 17 seasons with Barcelona, including four Champions League titles, netted 747 goals with additional of 312 assists in 926 appearances.
