Arsenal Send Possible Transfer Message To Smith-Rowe Amid Aston Villa Speculation

Arsenal are using their official Twitter account to sent a clear message to Emile Smith-Rowe, by welcoming him ‘home’ amid mounting speculation surrounding the Englishman’s future.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder made breakthrough into Arsenal first-team last season and established himself as one of pivotal player in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Smith-Rowe, who produced eye-catching performances in his first league start against Chelsea on Boxing day, scored seven goals with additional of eight assists in 36 appearances for Arsenal last season.

His stellar performances at Emirates throughout last campaign attracted interest from Aston Villa, who beaten Arsenal to the signing of former Norwich playmaker Emiliano Buendia and also said to be confident they will keep hold of prize asset Jack Grealish.

Dean Smith’s side have already lodged two bids for Gunners academy product, which was rejected by Arsenal but Villa set to return with a third offer in the region of £35million.

Despite Smith-Rowe, has two years left to run on his current contract, Arsenal remain confident he will eventually sign a new deal, and they already welcome him home after return to London Colney training base on Wednesday.

Smith-Rowe alongside majority of Gunners star begin pre-season training with the start of the new domestic season just five weeks away and Arsenal released a series of pictures which showed the likes of Calum Chambers, Nicolas Pepe and Thomas Partey working in the gym.

Smith-Rowe was also photographed with the caption ‘Welcome home’ alongside an emoji love heart.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are on the verge of completing a €20 million (£17.2m) deal to sign Anderlecht midfielder Sambi Lokonga, according to reports.

According to widespread reports in Belgium, Lokonga is in London on Friday to undergo his medical with Arsenal and to finalise his move to the Premier League.

Nuno Tavare was already in London alongside his agent while Arsenal are also trying to bolster their defensive options and a third offer has now been submitted to Brighton for Ben White.

Manuel Locatelli, Ruben Neves, James Maddison including Houssem Aouar are heavily linked with a move to Emirates as Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his midfield options this summer following the departure of Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard while Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are both expected to be sold.
