Arsenal news and gossip is coming in thick and fast and Sportarena is on hand to bring you all the very latest from Emirates stadium.

Arsenal ‘closing in on Guido Rodriguez deal’

Arsenal are reportedly close to completing a deal for Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez.

With Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard set to return to their parent club at the end of the season, Mikel Arteta’s side are in the market for midfield reinforcement this summer.

And before both depart, Arsenal have already identified Betis star Rodriguez as their top target to replace Ceballos, and according to Publication in Spain Estadio Deportivo, claim that the Gunners are now close to reaching an agreement with Betis over the Argentine midfielder.

The 27-year-old has a release clause of £69.5m in his contract at Betis, but the Spanish giant’s financial difficulties mean that they are likely to be forced to sell him at a reduced price.

The Gunners could still splash around £43.3m on the Argentine midfielder, who brought by Betis around £6milliom last year.

Arsenal ‘keeping tabs on Derby County left-back Lee Buchanan’

Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Derby County left-back Lee Buchanan.

The 20-year-old has establish himself as one of the pivotal player under Wayne Rooney this season, contributing three assists from 34 Championship appearances.

His impressive performances have attracted interest from the London club, who in market for left-back back-up for Kieran Tierney.

And according to The Daily Mail, claim the Gunners are expressed interest in signing Buchanan, who made 18 Championship starts this term in his breakthrough campaign.

Arsenal handed huge triple injury boost ahead of Villarreal

Arsenal got some excellent news yesterday after it was revealed that Alexandre Lacazette and Kieran Tierney were back in full training with the rest of the Mikel Arteta’s squad at London Colney training based.

Kieran Tierney who establish himself as one of the pivotal player in Gunners shirt, sidelined over a month with a knee injury while Alexandre Lacazette has missed the Gunners’ last three games due to a hamstring issue that he sustained against Fulham last month. Both players were initially expected to miss the Villarreal game.

However, the duo were back in training yesterday and will understood that Tierney and Lacazette could both be back in the squad to face Villarreal on Thursday night.

Mikel Arteta has now added weight to this claim after confirming at his press conference that Lacazette and Tierney will be assessed at training today before a final decision is made over their involvement.

The Gunners boss also provided a shock update on David Luiz today after appearing to suggest the centre-back could feature against Villarreal tomorrow night.

Luiz limped off shortly after half-time during Arsenal’s win at Newcastle on Sunday and it looked like his season might be over. However, Mikel Arteta has confirmed the Brazilian is “feeling better” and refused to rule out the possibility of Luiz being fit to face Villarreal.

When ask about Lacazette & Kieran Tierney, the Spanish coach say: ‘Let’s see today how everybody is in training.’

When asked about Luiz’s injury, the Gunners boss says: ‘No [there is no update]. He was feeling better yesterday. Let’s see how he is today. We don’t know the extent of the injury yet.’

On if there’s a chance he could play tomorrow against Villarreal, Mikel Arteta say: ‘With David it’s always possible because he wants to be available. He’s made an incredible effort to be in the position that he’s in today and the fact that he played against Newcastle was already a big bonus. He had surgery on his knee so with David, you never know.’

It would be a huge boost for Gunners if David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Kieran Tierney were all fit for their Uefa Europa League semi-final second-leg tie against Villarreal.

Luiz showed on Sunday how much entirely Gunners team missed him as his passing out from the back is important for Arsenal’s attacking play and especially as Gunners need goals tommorow, availability of the Brazilian will be major boost for entirely Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Kieran Tierney’s return would also be massive for Arsenal as he’s been sorely missed at left-back. The big concern is he’s been out for a month and will only have a couple of full training sessions under his belt so it might be a big ask for him to complete 90 minutes.
